What is a wedding favour / bomboniere?

A wedding favour is a present, which the bride and groom
give to their wedding guests to commemorate the occasion
and as a "thank you" for having attended the celebration of
their marriage. Bonboniere (French) or Bomboniera (Italian)
literally translated means "candy box".
